The\u00a0<strong><em>Greater Yellowlegs\u00a0was with a Northern Shoveler duck, (see Northern<\/em> Shoveler.)<\/strong> We saw only one Greater Yellowlegs, and this was pretty sad.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The\u00a0<em><strong>Greater Yellowlegs<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0has no subspecies, as this bird is Monotypic. Its cousin, the <em><strong>Lesser Yellowlegs\u00a0(<\/strong><strong>Tringa flavipens)<\/strong>, <\/em>is the same.\u00a0They have long, thin, yellow legs (Hence the name, what else?) and a long black bill.
